Riders: Andy & Grant
Bike: Cannondale & Pinarello FP2
Location: From Crystal Palace
Conditions: Bloody freezing, wets roads and very cloudy
Total Mileage: 47 miles (Not what I set out to do, but considering the problems we had with mechanicals and the cold i am pretty pleased). Lots of hills so i was happy.
Route: Crystal Palace/Keston/Downe Road (25%)/Cudham South/Brasted/Sundridge/Ide Hill/Four Elms/Crockham Hill/Westerham/Biggin Hill/Bromley/Anerley Hill/Crystal Palace/Fox Hill (20%)
Time: 10.30am
Food: Porridge, Lasagne, Bakewell Tart, Cod and Veg, Activia Yoghurt, chocolate (oops), Glass of Wine, Tea
Mechanicals: F.........g loads - 2 x Punctures and a broken chain. The first was just after Sundridge at the start of the climb and the second not soon after. Lets put it down to balding tyre shall we. The chain broke as we got to last part of Fox Hill (20%)and I put the power down - thank god it was right outside Grants house.
Overheard comment; "You don't find those in Camberwell" Group of cyclists riding up Jail Lane as Peacock walked across the road.
Tudor tea Rooms - a welcome break from the cold
Going, going gone (please note this is half a slice - not piggy enough to have a whole piece)
Grant was feeling cold and grumpy after the ride - really?
