365 days - A year pushing the pedals.

Countdown to 2011

12.28pm, 31 December 2010

It is New Years Eve and already I am getting excited about this years cycling.

I kept a record of sorts about my cycling exploits this year and although it has been a good record for me and my cycling buddies, it did constitute of lots of photos of dubious quality and some rather banal text, but having said that, it has been great to have a record to look back on what was a great year on the bike.

So, my plan for 2011 is to keep a daily record of what i do on the bike - keep it simple and include everything from; what i do on the bike, sportives, to things i see or read about, with all having one thing in common, the bike.

I have no idea how this will pan out and whether or not i will be able to keep it up, as i am not the best writer in the world and am sadly, so easily distracted, but hopefully with a bit of perseverance I may be able to see it through for the whole year.

My aim is also to be on a bike all 365 days. This does not mean i will be cycling miles everyday, infact in some cases it may be that i am merely straddling one for a short while. Lets see how i manage.

26 December – Boxing Day Mtb ride

Boxing Day ride from Ludford via Sixhills to Legsby
across the snow covered fields and tracks.

25 December – Christmas Day ride - 2010

While waiting for the Christmas Turkey to cook I went for a ride on the mtb.
The snow was deep and crisp and even, just like it should be. The ride up from the house was lovely - deep snow up through the fields and across to the moors.

The sun was shining and the blue sky dappled with white clouds.

Just me and my shadow

The only sound was the snow crumpling under my wheel
and the sound of me breathing.

Danny MacAskill - "Way Back Home" - NEW street trials riding short film

Went to see this last night at the Prince Charles cinema. Was awesome - i thoroughly watching one of the biking gods at work. Trust me, i don't do the 'god' word often but hats off to DMA - check out his new video.

Birthday breakfast and Y Wal - Afan November 2010

It was the morning i realised i was a year younger than i had previously thought. Mmmm, yes i know that sounds strange, but for some bizarre reason i thought i was 48. Well, if nothing else it was a great start to the day. :))))))

Check out the photographs below. I cannot be held responsible for any images that appear to show Raph walking. The photographs may also contain scenes of grant falling off his bike, a large Lasagne, some cuts and bruises and Al mending her bike. Enjoy. :)))))
