Idiots encountered: 2 Idiots and a knob: 1.
The Elephant & Castle is not a great place to cycle around even at the best of times. Imagine my horror to see a guy driving around with an A4 notepad resting on his steering wheel, while actually filling in a questionnaire. He meandered around the road, never indicated and i could actually watch him writing. I was so incensed that I cycled after him and started banging on his window. Did he stop? I don't know, but people like that need to be told. 2. Holborn is becoming even worse these days for Lemmings. Yes, the place is being invaded by people who cross the road while using their phone or texting and not even looking if anything is coming. While cycling towards Chancery Lane, the traffic moving slowly, a man ran out infront of a bus and straight into my path. I came off, but manage to stay on my feet as I hit him. He then simply carried on running across the road and that was it. I was lucky not to be knocked into the path of other traffic. I have to say that the words i uttered or rather shouted at him were not pleasant but sorry, he deserved all i could throw at him. ARESEHOLE. 2. I do like chasing/racing other cyclists, BUT, i don't take risks or put anyone else at risk and I would rather give way than put myself in danger. As I was cycling home tonight, a guy on a road bike sped past me - cycling in a very low gear and spinning like a madman. I put my foot down in order to keep up with him, as did another guy on a fixed (I think you get the picture). He was determined to drop us and to be fair he was starting to put some distance between us - well a little anyway. We continued and then a bus passed the two of us as we approached the lights, but as we stopped the other guy on the bike had just disappeared. The other guy shouted over to me saying "where has he gone" as we checked to see if he was under the bus lol. He must have turned off , but we never noticed. We carried on towards E&C and as we puled up at the lights at the E&C roundabout he suddenly appeared again. As the lights went green he sped off again and we took chase. It was his dogged determination to lose us and the fact that he looked like an idiot in his lycra clad skinny legs that irritated me - not the fact that he was clearly quicker than me - honest :))))
