Guilford to Peaslake - 12 September 2010

Well it had taken many months of nagging, but finally I managed to persuade Jonathan to come out on his mtb and try some proper off-road around Peaslake. He arrived at my flat fist so we could change his tyres to something more suitable. It was not as straight forward as I had hoped and and along with the pinch puncture, meant we were going to be lucky to get our 10.00 train. We headed off to waterloo and just managed to get the right train. Neither Jonathan or grant seemed to keen to have their photograph taken.

Grant was checking out the route

Jonathan was fiddling with something.

We arrived at Guildford and after stocking up with a few bits from M&S we headed off towards Shalford and the start of our off-road adventure off to Peaslake.

Ok - so it was all going well, but we needed to make sure. Grant was chief navigator.

Come on Jonathan - we haven't got all day hehehhehee.

It was a beautiful day and there were some great mushrooms scattered around the forest. Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric (pronounced /ˈæɡərɪk/) or fly Amanita (pronounced /ˌæməˈnaɪtə/), is a poisonous and psychoactive basidiomycete fungus.

After getting to Peaslake it was time for some tea and a pasty - and for Jonathan to get his tits outs for the builders :))))))

We then took him up to play on 'Barry Knows Best'. As it was his first time we took easy and after giving Barry a good going over we left Jonathan to rest on the bench and take in the sun, and the builders, while we rode up to give 'Barry' a thorough thrashing. Needless to say Grant has taken the crown for fastest down 'Barry'. The pictures below are of us working through the woods before heading to 'Barry'.

One final stop at Peaslake for another cup of tea before we headed back to Guildford to catch the train back to London.
