Down and around the mountain to the abbey of San Antimo. Built in early 1100s, San Antimo is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Italy and is located in a wonderful pastoral. After admiring the Abbey and enjoying lunch, possibly a picnic if the others feel like joining us, some of us may even escape in the broom wagon. The others will set off for Montalcino, famous for the Brunello wine. From Montalcino we loop around and see the now formidably Monte Amiata ahead passing Monte Nero and up to Castel Del Piano.

Nacho Macho Man
Yes - I am very excited about getting on my bike in the wet.
The view in the morning looking across to Monte Giovi.
Grant and Denzil approaching the top of the first climb.
'Wendying' her way up the hill, Wendy cutting a fine figure in pink.
Raph and Al making steady progress - slowly but surely :)))))
What time do you call this guys? I have a rolling pin in my hand
and I am not afraid to use it :)))))
'Natcho Macho' becomes 'Natcho Patcho' Man.
The Accident
The day had started so well but a patch of rain and an eagerness to put on his waterproof led to a series of events that saw Inaki spending over 7 hours in hospital.
Wendy helps Inaki out while Raph looks on in shock.
He seems to be getting attended to from all angles.
The cuts and bruises.
Al pounding the roads and making good going on the climbs.
Her 'mojo' firmly in place and caffeine loaded.
Raph and Denzil bringing up the rear (again).
Views across the valleys was amazing.
At Abbazia di Sant Antimo - Me, Al, Raph, Granty and Denzil.
Denzil and Grant
After the ride and back home on the ranch
Grant down at the log pile about to get out his big chopper.
Vineyards looking across to Castel Del Piano.
Cenno in the distance with Monte Amiato and an amazing cloud formation.
Dinner at Barry and Alviras. Homemade Pizza, wine and Grappa.
A night where i foolishly challenged Al to a Grappa drinking contest. And this from a guy who get a bit tipsy on one glass of wine - oh what a fool. It took copious amounts of water in order to ensure i was capable of walking let alone riding in the morning. Thank you Grant for your help.
Barry at his Pizza Oven
Rock a by baby - Raph getting some welcome shut-eye during dinner. Al, there to support him and protect him from those eager to get a shot of him nodding off.
Metamorphosis - Al and Raph becoming one.
