Day 5 - Ride to Volcanic Sulphur Baths – Saturnia

It wasn't long before we needed a cafe stop to get out of the rain.

Wet, slippy roads

I got carried away taking abstract pics while we waited for the boys.




Saturnia
Saturnia is a spa town in Tuscany in north-central Italy that has been inhabited since ancient times. It is a frazione of the comuneof Manciano, in the province of GrossetoSaturnia takes its name from the Roman godSaturn(us). Legend has it that he grew tired of the constant wars of humans, and sent a thunderbolt to earth that created a magic spring of warm sulphurous water which would pacify mankind.
